New England Family Home - Scheme Design Proposal

When faced with the total refurbishment of this listed property to create their forever home, the client needed a clear vision they could work to. The brief was to bringing a touch of New England to Edinburgh for a modern family. Modern and classic, elegant with a twist.

Focusing on the vestibule, hall, family lounge and library spaces initially, using high quality finishes that flow from space to space.

In the vestibule, hall and lounge the pallet is light, natural, earthy tones and materials with accents of charcoal and brass to give a modern edge. Wall panelling and painted cabinetry is offset by graphic prints, leather detailing and contemporary light fittings. In the drawing room a dark inky blue is added to the pallet on the walls and cabinetry along with a claret accent. Throughout the ground floor a wide plank light oak flooring and dark painted doors, frames and architraves tie the spaces together.
